Aircraft Maintenance Engineering opportunities in India | AME is the branch of engineering that involves the maintenance repair and trouble shooting the issued faced in Aircraft. AME is an international program regulated by Directorate General of Civil Aviation, Govt of India. No aircraft can fly without its safety certification by an appropriately license holder. Thus an aircraft engineer maintenance the responsibility of aircraft safety and the personnel onboard.
Under this programme there are two categories of AME license B1 and B2. In B1 category which covers heavy aircraft and turbine engine to be known as mechanical stream and in category B2 aircraft electrical instrumentation and aircraft communication and navigation system to be known as avionic streams. For issue of B1 and B2 AME license one has to gain four year license programme. It comprises of two year academic and two year practical training in live environment. The eligibility criteria to pursue an Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Programme course such as Candidate must be passed 10+2 with PCM or equivalent AICTE approved 3 year engineering diploma in any stream or any higher qualification in science with physics and mathematics at the time of admission. The candidate who is eligible for admission in B Tech courses is also eligible for AME programme. Candidate age should be between 16-28 year. Candidate must not have colour blindness or physical disabilities. Candidate must have 45% marks in 10+2 with PCM.
